Healdsburg Wine & Food Experience

Brand Identity

This was a project I was part of with my team at The Engine Is Red. Healdsburg Wine & Food Experience was a brand new organization that approached us to design a mark for their very first event, and to use for future events. Held in beautiful Healdsburg California, this event was intended to be a special culinary and wine-tasting experience featuring top culinary talent from around the USA, and top wine-making talent from the Napa Valley region.

Sketching Out Concepts

The event was intended to celebrate not only winemakers and chefs, but also the local region where it was hosted. It needed to be a homage to both northern California agriculture and the people behind it all, all while invoking excitement and interest with both locals and the people who were traveling into the region for the event.

The Final Mark

After many rounds of sketching and iterating, we ultimately decided that a tractor would be a fitting symbol to embody the core values of the event, and one that would remain to be a fitting symbol to ground the event’s brand for years to come. We were able to hide a nod to winemaking within the logo as well, with a wine bottle shape tucked into the tractor where the engine would be.
